Lake County Land Trust Seeking Volunteers
The Lake County Land Trust consists of members and volunteers who are dedicated to the Land Trust’s goal of protecting and preserving land in Lake County that have unique historical, educational, or ecological significance to the area. We need more of you! The Land Trust is currently seeking people of all ages who have a desire to help a local non-profit become even more successful and efficient at doing what they do best: protecting wildlife and natural resources. Currently, we have openings for all volunteer positions and duties, including hike leaders, indoor cleaning crew for our Nature Center, outdoor property maintenance, community outreach/ special events, and board of directors. This opportunity is great for people of all ages and interests, whether you’re looking for a resume builder or experience in marketing, seeking community service hours, want to get to know other nature lovers, or have extra time on your hands and want to give back to the community. Come talk to us about the areas of service you can provide. We need you! Call 707.262.0707 or email lclt@lakecountylandtrust.org for more information. |

Lake County Land Trust Volunteer Appreciation Celebration
Lake County Land Trust's first Volunteer Appreciation (& Recruiting) Reception was held on January 27 with a wonderful 14-person turnout, plus staff and board members. While eight of our guests were loyal, dedicated Land Trust volunteers, six newcomers attended the event.
Attendees were treated to snacks and refreshments. Board President Val Nixon presented a slideshow of Land Trust properties and volunteer projects, and talked about the why our volunteers are so important.
Present volunteers received official Land Trust name tags. Past, present and future volunteers received valentine's chocolates and flowers to take home, each with a note of appreciation attached and a quote about volunteerism.
Volunteers will receive assignments via email soon. Anyone else interested in becoming a hike leader at the Rodman Preserve, Boggs Lake, or Rabbit Hill; participating in cleaning or maintenance at any of these Land Trust properties; or helping with special events can contact the Land Trust to be included. Benefits include spending time in the great outdoors, meeting other nature lovers, and that special feeling of giving back to your community for a truly wonderful cause: the earth!
