Susanne Scholz

As a founding board member of the Lake County Land Trust, Susanne Scholz brings the history of the organization to her duties as its first Executive Director. Although the position is part-time, Susanne uses her skills from a long and varied business career to manage the business of the Trust.

A resident of Lake County since 1978, Susanne has always had an interest in conservation and has also served on the boards of the Redbud Audubon Society and the Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association.

Susanne lives in Clearlake with her husband, Jim, where they enjoy hiking, canoeing, kayaking, camping, and gardening. When not working for the Land Trust, Susanne spends her time writing and is currently using the material from five years of‚ "Nature Notes," a weekly column in the Clearlake Observer-American, the local twice-weekly newspaper, to create a book of nature stories for a West Coast audience.
